Doppelgänger Pooper (Ep 6): This, to me, is classic Tim Robinson. Combine that with a mafia play, the name "Jamie Taco" and PWH's delivery and you got a great skit on your hands. First off, I will always ride with any comedic device that works off of the "My wife" bit. The Mafia Play (Ep 4): Former LCB Interviewee and friend of the pod Paul Walter Hauser is so god damn good in this skit. Another sneaky funny part is when the one guy goes "The dog probably smells my dog". Him refusing to stop the dance, O'Malley insisting that the dog is doing the right thing by protecting the house, and Tim removing his sunglasses to reveal he is is tears is so good. I think we have all been stuck in an awkward spot with couples fighting like that, and we have definitly all had a friend whose significant other has SUCKED. Blues Brothers Dance (Ep 4): I liked this one a lot because #1 it features Conner O'Malley who I find endlessly funny and #2 something as random as the Blues Brothers dance. That, the physical acting in how he ate the burger, asking for the video of them killing the president, and the final punchline absolutely kill me. The old guy who played the professor in this skit was hysterical with his delivery of lines that old people just don't say, like "You aren't going to tell people that I housed Dylan's burger". I'm Gonna Eat Your Burger (Ep 3): This one is very funny for the same reason the Ford Focus group one from the first season was: It features a randomly hilarious older actor that Tim Robinson pulled off the street. Also a sneaky very funny part of that skit was when the police captain has to repeat "You don't care who is in your way do you" just for Crashmore to say "Not Really!" Describing the gun, threatening to walk out, The cosmic gumbo, talking about his rate and how he has seen every dick on the planet. The lines and the delivery from the Crashmore actor fucking kill me. After I watched the show a few more times, though, I liked it less. The first time I watched it, I thought it was very funny and thought it was one of the funnier skits of the show. Detective Crashmore (Ep 3): I still kind of go back and forth on this one.
Not only did Robinson later use those sketch ideas for I Think You Should Leave, but he also used underutilized cast members from SNL (Cecily Strong Vanessa Bayer, Mike O'Brien) as well. They apparently didn't mesh with his humor, because they rejected a lot of his sketch ideas and Robinson left in 2014. He took the traditional comedy path, becoming a cast member of the show in 2012 before they quickly moved him to being a writer. This lead to me watching Detroiters, which I now really like, and his episode of "The Characters" which was very funny. If you feel the same way about SNL that I do, Robinson should be a guy that you love. I saw people tweeting about how much they loved it, though, so I have it a try. When 'I Think You Should Leave dropped in 2019, I had no interest because of Netflix's then sketchy track record with originals. Giphy Images.I was only really familiar with Tim Robinson via commercials for Detroiters, which I hadn't watched.
